ABOUT JULIE LEAR
I love nature. Living on the front range of Colorado has let me paint the beautiful wild and weedy parts. Chamisa bushes and wildflower meadows draw me in with their overlapping textures and layers of colors. Many of my paintings are in pastel, a medium that allows for richly layered color, depth of texture and a softness found in quiet natural moments.
I also work in oil to add a wider range of detail and vibrancy to my work. I am always learning and expanding and refining my skills. Nature is so beautiful… I am grateful for the chance to translate that beauty into art.
